Due to Popular demand and the success of our July clinic we have set up a 2nd clinic in September. 5_DOT Ranch is located in the mountains between Susanville and Eagle Lake. It is known for its huge Rainbow Trout and its outstanding dry fly fishing. September should be no different. The Callabaetis should be out in force as they normally are that time of year. We still have a few openings if anyone is interested.

Doug Ouellette and Rob Anderson have been fishing and teaching anglers advanced stillwater techniques for over 15 years. Doug is well known in the Reno area for his expertise on many area stillwaters such as Eagle lake, South Fork Reservoir, Davis Lake, Knott Creek Reservoir and Frenchman's Lake just to name a few. Rob has emerged on the scene in the last 10 years hosting club outings, teaching large clinics on both stillwaters and moving waters, doing talks at shows and fly club meetings all over the West. Rob is also well known for some of his famous fly patterns like the Maholo Midge and the "Loco" Series of Dry Flies including 5 - Dot favorite "Loco Ant".

The clinic will be a 2 day event and will cover many stillwater techniques, proper rigging, shoreline wading as well as float tube, pontoon boat and small pram techniques. There will be lots and lots of free time to practice and catch some of these big beautiful Rainbows at 5 - Dot Ranch.

Dates: September 12th-13th (two full days on the water) sign ups are limited

The fishing at Frenchman's has changed a bunch over the last week. Fish have moved into shallow water and are very active in 5-15 feet of water. In the mornings fish can be seen working the shoreline chasing midges and Callabaetis. As the morning moves along the fish move out into a little deeper water as the sun grows high into the sky.
