Catfish are still the most active species, and cut mackerel fished in creek channels and shallow coves is working best for the kitties right now.

Bass fishing has been up and down, but early mornings have produced a little bit of a surface bite on spooks and poppers. The evening has been good at times, as shad have moved onto main lake points. Spoons drop shots, slow rolling spinnerbait have been putting fish in the boat.

Trout anglers are having a tough time, with the rainbows retreating to 50 ft. Needlefish down rigged or with 8 to 9 colors of leadcore are picking up a handful of hold over 'bows.

Crappie action picked up some, the narrows being the best location for the slabs, and mini-jigs and red worms are getting the job done. You'll find Bluegill around the bull rush in most cuts and coves. Bow fishing for Carp is still looking to improve, as is the Redear.
