Once again catfish provided the best action, with mackerel the top bait. The kitties moved just a little deeper, and Santa Cruz Bay, and Drakes cove all produced well.

Bass fishing has been better this week, topwaters, spinnerbaits and plastic worms, either texas rigged or drop shotted seemed to get the most bites. Trout anglers did get into a few this week, with a fair shore bite reported at Harveys. PowerBait and long leader was the trick for the bait anglers. Trollers used 8 colors of leadcore with needlefish to manage some nice hold-over rainbows. We are slated for 5,000 lbs. of fish from the Calaveras trout farm on November 4th. Crappie was slow, as were all other species this past week.

Catfish are still taking fly lined baits in Cachuma Bay, Sweetwater Bay and Clark Canyon. Crappie made a decent showing in the Narrows, with......
