The best reports came from those trolling Cachuma Bay from the surface to 15 ft. with Rapalas, Owner Cultiva lures and kastmasters. Those fishing the bank picked off some fish tossing spoons and soaking 'crawlers and powerbait in Harveys. The most noteworthy was a 2.5 lb. Brown Trout on a kastmaster.

Bass fishing was tough with most fish retreating to 25' or more around Arrowhead Island or the narrows. Jigs and blades accounted for the majority of the largies. Smallmouth have shut down almost completely and only a handful were reported. A few decent crappie catches were made as well; drifting worms and trolling CD3 Rapalas took slabs to 2 lbs.

Bowfishing came on for most of the week as carp were spotted on the surface for the first time since last summer. The action should improve daily with the warmer water temperatures. With the exception of catfish, all other species were no shows.
