"Offshore Tuna fishing was much slower today," said the report from Intrepid for March 24, "as the Big Tuna pulled a disappearing act and just vanished, no where to be found. There were some smaller grade fish in the 40-pound range and plenty of Sailfish up chasing the jigs and baits.

The Sails provided the fun today with their feisty attitude jumping and showing off for all who hooked into one. The big hit came for Steve Weiner who was part of a double hook-up on Giant Black Marlin. The Big Marlin came up together and ate the slow trolled skipjack. One of the beasts shook the hook free shortly after, but Steve managed to keep his on the line and got the (estimated) over 500-pound Black to the boat in one hour. A few photos on the water and the beauty was released and swam away strong. All our Sails and Marlin have been released thus far, with a 100% survival rate that we are very proud of here on the Intrepid and our sport fishers as well."
