http://www.pointlomasportfishing.comCapt. Ron called in with this update for the Point Loma, "Well I think we got rid of all that weather we had the last couple of weeks, big seas, dirty water, stormy. You know that month of March was brutal wasn't it? Anyway I got back on the halibut today, we caught 6, nice ones too. The biggest fish was 29 lbs. We had like 4 that were in the 20's. One at 17 lbs. and one at 26 inches, still a pretty good fish. We also had about 60 Browns, some nice sand bass and some sculpin. Pretty good action we had 18 guys on a charter. Good weather, flat and calm today as calm as you can get it. We really didn't have enough drift, I wish we had a little more flow. It's all good, I found a new area down below the pier at Imperial Beach. Shallower water, a couple birds put me on the area.
The boat leaves at 7:00 AM on Wednesdays thru Sunday. We are out from 7 to 4. Halibut Freelance $66.00. The fish are going to spawn April, May & June, just watch. If you want to go out with the Point Loma call 619-223-1627. There is nothing like standing at the rail and seeing that big 'barn door' come into view."
