The area has been saturated with rains for the entire week and the port has been closed to navigation. The rivers are running into the ocean and the waters are muddied up pretty good and extend out for several miles. According to Captain Temo Verboonen, our on-the-spot reporter and representative, the rainy season arrived and was a part of the tropical storm, "Carlota", that came through the Oaxaca area and moved up the line to Zihuatanejo. The sea surface conditions remain pretty good and the surface winds are light and variable but the rain has been relentless and is set to continue through Sunday. Sea temps remained good in the 85-86 degree ranges and the crews are anxious to get back to the fishing. It's the time of the year when the logs flow out to see and gather bait that attracts the pelagics, especially the dorado and often the tuna.
