"We fished for bluefin tuna today and did very well," wrote Intrepid skipper Kevin Osborne July 2. "We didn't do much in the morning but come early afternoon we got on a school of mixed grade fish that stayed with us all the way until dark. The bulk of the fish was 20 to 35 pounds and we also had 8 fish that were 50 to 70 pounds. It was a perfect pace for our group with one to four fish hooked all the time. We have a number of anglers on board that have never caught a bluefin tuna before today. They have now. For our more experienced fisherman on this trip, they were able to catch their daily limit with a little effort. These fish were not biting full speed but, if you got a good bait out away from the boat on the right gear, you pretty much got bit within a couple of minutes. It was very enjoyable bluefin tuna fishing.

With our weather continuing to get nicer throughout the day, we are excited about what tomorrow has in store for us. The photo from today's fishing is Donald Aiso with assistance from Dave Taylor. Joanne Puscizna with assistance from Dave Taylor and Scott Shurko.
