"What a great day of offshore fishing," wrote skipper Andy Cates July 22. "The Red Rooster drifted from around 6:15 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. catching Bluefin tuna. We managed to boat 121 tuna along with a handful of dorado and a lone yellowtail. The action wasn't the crazy wide open fishing associated with albacore fishing, it was the slow steady plunking of classic Bluefin fishing. We had one or two fish going all day with flurries for four to five. The sonar was covered with fish marks all day and the tuna were boiling steady. It was great light tackle tuna fishing. The Red Rooster has one more 4-day trip scheduled before we start a string of five-day trips. Anybody considering a last minute trip to target tuna should call Christina at the Red Rooster office at (619) 224-3857. The boat will be in tomorrow and we leave on our Charkbait four-day the same day. I've included a picture of Chapman's delicious sushi spread."
