"We had a fun day of yellowtail fishing today," reported Red Rooster III September 8. "The fish started to bite in the early morning after sunrise and they were fairly steady until around 11 am. Then the fishing slowed down and we had to work a little harder at it. We managed to scratch until the late afternoon when Joe was going to call it and run back to the tuna grounds. But as luck would have it the yellows started pushing bait and large bird schools got on it. We ran over and started to get some more of the good grade yellowtail. We kept this up until almost dark and finally we decide to start the run to the grounds."
