Excel skipper Justin Fleck parked the big rig at Fisherman's Landing September 25 after an eight-day trip with 33 anglers and chartermaster Dan Colonello. "Fishing at The Rocks was slow," said Justin, "but we got some wahoo there. The offshore fishing was good for smaller fish, all you wanted. We had near-limits."

Thaweesak Math won first place for a 31-pound yellowfin he got with a sardine on a 5/0 Owner Mutu hook tied to 40-pound Blackwater fluorocarbon and 60-pound Line One spectra on an Accurate BX-2 400 reel and a seven-foot Phenix rod.

Wayne Stewart of Lancaster won second place for a 27.8-pound yellowfin. David Robinson won third place for a 27.6-pound wahoo.
