It has been a difficult summer fishing season from Mazatlan with very little angler activity for the various sportfishers throughout the area and this past week was not much different from the entire summer fishing reports. The Aries Sportfishing Fleet reported a total of 9 days fished this past week with 7 offshore days and 2 super panga days and the results were hardly enough to create a report. For the 7 offshore fishing days the skippers reported 2 sailfish, 2 shark and 17 dorado for the week and for the 2 inshore fishing days the catch consisted of 4 corvina and 2 black snook.

Mazatlan Climate: Mostly sunny & warm days with a few passing clouds and mostly light and variable surface breezes.

Sea Conditions: Conditions continue to be very good throughout the area with sea temps holding stable at 87-88 degrees from inshore to offshore and very little swell condition. Clarity in the offshore water is near perfect.

Best Fishing Area: There have not been sufficient numbers of boats fishing offshore to establish a "best fishing area".

Best Bait/Lure: The sailfish were caught on the rigged trolling baits and the dorado were taken on artificials, rigged baits and live bait.

Bait Supply: There has been no problems with live bait or fresh baits for rigging & trolling from Mazatlan.
