Report Date:
http://www.cortezcharters.comThe mixed bag catches from Puerto Morelos continue to provide interesting action for the anglers in this week's fishing report and reflected a 13 fish variety for their 20 fishing days. The single most notable thing for the Puerto Morelos area is the incredible variety of fish that changes with the seasons along with the always available supply of fresh caught ballyhoo for rigging baits, cut baits, skirted baits, etc. While the bite rises and falls occasionally, overall, it remains very stable and predictable for most of the fish. The overall catches for this past week for their 20 days fishing produced 8 dorado, 4 giant Atlantic barracuda, 2 wahoo, 1 rainbow runner, 18 bonito, 1 Spanish mackerel, 7 grouper, 1 amberjack, 11 trigger fish, 2 snappers, 7 banana fish, 1 pargo and 1 strawberry fish.
PM Climate: Partly cloudy but pleasant days and temperatures that varied from 61 nights to 84 daytime highs and some periods of quality sunshine.
Sea Conditions: Mostly light & variable surface breezes in the 5-10 mph and temps that held stable at 83-84 degrees throughout the area.
Best Bait/Lure: Continues to be the freshly provided ballyhoo that are caught on a daily basis and provided to the sportfishing fleet.
