"The boat called to report on their last morning of fishing," noted the office for American Angler January 2. "They had 18 more tuna, averaging from 115 to 140 pounds. Regular trip passenger John Haskin caught a 262-pounder (which may be less impressive for him than it would have been a few months ago before he had his first grandchild), also in the 200-pound club is Dave Gonzales with a 210-pounder. But the day was topped off by Chris Sato who has been fishing this trip since 2007 and the last thing we saw from the dock as the boat pulled away for this trip was Chris signing a 3-0-0- and then making a praying motion to the sky...guess what, Chris boated a 310-pounder today. They are on their way home and looks like the weather has laid down for their ride up."

American Angler will arrive at Pt. Loma Sportfishing Sunday morning.
