I'm still getting good Steelhead reports from this often overlooked river. The run is strong this year! We like to use more winter steelhead type flies on this river. A-leaches (purple, black, pink), prawn-type patterns, and bright colored flies get Chrome. Flies should be bigger than you normally use on summer runs, mainly tied on size 2 to 2 / 0 hooks. Sink tips are helpful here as the river sees traffic and fish tend to hold close to the banks. Flyfishers are in the vast minority on this river, however, if you follow standard river edicit, conflicts with other fisherman are avoided. The spin fisherman are friendly and tend to fish different types of water than flyguys.
