http://www.countyofsb.org/parks/cachuma.sbcTrout fishing at Lake Cachuma was up and down this week. Some anglers were able to weight in fish to 6.5 lbs. Mid-week saw the best action and trollers working the northern shoreline had the best results. The best lures were Rapalas in the 5, 7 and 9 sizes whether they were C. D.'s, floaters or jointed all worked well. Chrome Kastmasters also took fish to 5.5 lbs.
The good weather had private boats out in force which slowed the bite some and made for scratchy fishing. Those who chose to fish from shore had scratchy results on marina point and E point. PowerBait and crawlers worked best for the shore fishermen.
Bass fishing was also up and down. Some anglers reported limits but overall its been a tough bite. Jigs, Texas rigs and drop shots were the preferred techniques. The warm weather had the Carp up on top in the late morning or early afternoon. But only a couple of people took advantage of the opportunity. All other species were a no-show.
