NDOW offers Special Beginning Rifle Class at the Clark County Shooting Complex

The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) will host an introductory rifle shooting class Saturday (May 11) at the Clark County Shooting Complex education center.

Participants in this advanced hunter education workshop will learn the rules of firearms safety, range etiquette and marksmanship skills. The three-hour class is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.

In addition to a brief lecture period, participants will have the opportunity to load and shoot a .22 caliber rifle from four different firing positions. Target options will include traditional paper target faces and steel silhouettes placed at various distances. Participants also will learn proper procedures for cleaning and safely storing firearms and ammunition.

Seating is limited and reservations are required. No walk-ins will be allowed. There is no charge for the class, and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. For reservations call 486-5127 x 3501.
