"Timing is everything when it comes to one of these long range fishing trips," said the report for June 3 from American Angler. "It is impossible to predict the weather and the many other variables that affect the outcome of the day's catch when booking a trip - one just has to go and hope for the best. Today we got lucky and had flat calm weather and there was good sign of jumping fish throughout the day that we were fortunate enough to work on. Most of the spots of jumpers did not have a lot of fish but we managed a few good drifts throughout the day and ended up with 51 bluefin tuna 40 to 60 pounds.

There was pretty good sign of 100-pounders around but we never got on the right batch although hopes are high as one of our code boats had a pretty good shot at them.
Today's grade of bluefin were a notch better then what we have been seeing in recent years so last year's "hot" bft rig seemed to be on the light side today.
Regardless of a few heartbreaks we ended up with a nice day as shown by the smile on Karen's face."

Later in the day the office posted, "Just got a call from the guys....regular passenger, Bill Patton, just boated a 118-pounder; he's stoked!"
