Justin Fleck called in to give us this update for fishing aboard the Excel. "We started the morning in the Bluefin grounds. We noticed right away that things had changed it just didn't look the same as the day before. We got lucky, a little school stuck with us the fist thing in the morning. We were plunk'n away at that nicer grade fish. After awhile it dried up and we decided to slide south the rest of the day. We didn't find much below the B;uefin grounds but we did find a nice kelp paddy just before dark. That allowed us to pick up 51 nice Yellowtail. They were about 18 to 25 lbs. and a couple of Dorado.

"We're going to continue to go south tonight to fish down below for a couple days. It looks like the wind will pick up so it will be a good time to be at an island or in near the coast. So we'll be fishing Yellowtail, White Seabass and Halibut the next couple of days. When the wind backs off we'll be back offshore.

"Everybody's having a good time, everybody has a lot of fish. We'll check in again tomorrow."

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619)223-7493 to get in on the action.

Hello anglers, Today we fished the bluefin zone. The morning started off pretty slow but it didn't take long to find a kelp that was holding a school of bft. We settled into a plunker for several hours, with one to three fish going all the time. When the school finally left us we didn't have to go very far to find another one. All in all the day went very well and we have plenty of bluefin to show for it. We will......
