Rockport Reservoir Fish Port

Utah Division of Wildlife

Report Date:

http://wildlife.utah.gov

Ice fishing is likely over for the season. There's a lot of open water around the edges, enough in spots to bank fish. There are several hundred yards of open water at the south end, if you want to fish from a canoe or kick boat. The easiest place to park is in the Crandall Campground--it's a short pack to the lake. Fishing this time of year is usually pretty good. One angler recently caught a 3.5-pound brown trout from the shore on the south end of the reservoir. Because of the warm weather and unsafe ice, the Rockport Quad-fishalon tournament has been rescheduled for April 12, 2014. It is now an open-water event with both shore and boat fishing allowed. You can register online at rockport.utah.gov. Many thanks to Park Manager Joe Donnell for the report.
