While we wait for surface action to heat up anglers fishing with Ventura Sportfishing are keeping busy pulling on big Lings! Our weekly special for Lingcod has really taken off because of one reason.. production! With that said, anglers do not have to necessarily go on a special trip to catch a prize cod. Regular 3/4 day trips are coming back with "whoppers" at the local islands almost every day. Our full day trips on the Pacific Eagle are starting to change gears, keeping an eye out in the morning for signs of Seabass and Barracuda. Overnight trips with Pacific Dawn are regularly catching limits of Lingcod in the shallows. After a recent trip anglers returning described "sight fishing" for Lings in the shallows at San Miguel Island.. "a rush to see them swallow your swimbait" they said! Good weather at the end of April and first week of May giving us every option at the islands or along the coast! While we wait for surface action to heat up.. this is fun!
