Report Date:

On May 17, Melissa Anderson of Mount Pleasant caught a 17.75-pound, 33-inch length, 21-inch girth tiger trout while trolling with pop gear. Conservation Officer Wyatt Mecham says that anglers have recently caught fewer fish, but the fish they are catching have been larger.

Last week, the reservoir received a combined total of 73,000 of 9-inch cutthroat trout from multiple stockings. Try fishing with nightcrawlers, chub meat, egg sacs or salmon eggs. If you're using lures, try using Jakes's Spin-A-Lure or silver or gold Kastmasters. Fly anglers should try fishing leeches, wooly buggers, prince nymphs and soft hackle flies with sinking line. All of the Scofield tributaries are closed to fishing until July 12.
