Angler Tom Ogden had a good day at Birch Creek this past week. He fished from a tube on Sept. 4 from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and caught two tigers -- one was 18 inches and the other one was 21 inches and three pounds, five ounces). He also caught seven rainbow trout that ranged in size from nine inches to 17 inches. He used a fast-sinking line (#7) and a size 4 tan/green/pearl crystal bugger, size 6 beadhead olive leech with a gold rib, and size 8 bead head soft hackle patterns in black/green/pearl and black/red/blue. There were a lot of gray and some tan mayflies on the water in the late morning. The water level was about 20-25 feet from full. The water temperature was 61-63?? and the visibility was about six feet because of the algae in the water column.
