Report Date:
http://wildlife.utah.govA self-proclaimed inexperienced fly angler fished the South Fork of the Ogden, but didn't have any success. He fished from the Magpie Campground up to the privately owned Mount Ogden Campground. He saw quite a few fish, but -- despite trying an arsenal of dry flies, nymphs and wooly buggers -- he couldn't get them to bite. Other anglers have also reported slow fishing in this section of the river. The Magpie and Botts campgrounds -- which offer easier access to the river -- are still open. Other campgrounds up the river have closed, but you can still find access to the river. The river through town was recently stocked with rainbow trout.
