http://www.kenssport.comWell, it looks like we're over the hump on the East Walker! The water temps are down to the low 60's and the fish seem to be plenty healthy! There's been some good action on streamers, nymphs and dries this last few days. Everyone we've talked to, including guides, have said the fish are fighting hard and releasing well, I feel very comfortable??sending folks down to the river from here on out.??
For nymphs it's been some caddis nymphs like Fox's poopah,??z-wing caddis and LaFontaines sparkle pupa, midges like silver streaks, zebra midges, wd-40's and the like. For streamers, zonkers, zuddlers and??matukas, and??there's been some good dry action mid-morning and late evening with para adams, hatchmatchers and elk hair caddis.
It took a little while for the river to??shape back up, but it's??back in shape now and I'm sure it will be for the remainder of the season.??
We've been getting some good reports from Kirman lately, lots of nice brookies up to 18" and cutts up to 4 or 5 pounds! Most anglers are reporting 5 or more fish per rod, some on streamers and some on scud and nymphs. I think we're in for a good??Fall on Kirman, especially with the cooler weather we've been getting!
The cooler weather??will also help all the other local fisheries, Twins, Virginias and Bridgeport Lake??should all be??getting better and better as the season progresses. I'll look forward to some nice browns showing up from Bridgeport and the Twins any time now.??
Don't forget the Fly Fishing Tournament sponsored by the Bridgeport Fish??Enhancement Program on October 7th, It's a great time and it's always nice to have a little friendly competition! Lots of great prizes and a great steak??BBQ too!!!
