http://www.sportfishingreport.comThe Albacore are still on the chew for a late season bite. We shoved off out of H&M Landing aboard the Ranger 85 for a two-day trip. With the weekend storm moving in, our ride to the Cortez Banks was a little rough with some rain in the forecast. We woke up to some choppy conditions and threw the feathers out in search of some early morning biters. Saturday's weather conditions made it tough trying to spot fish however we did manage to board some fish on a couple feeding schools. There were many boats out on the water putting a lot of pressure on the fish which made some of the schools skittish as we'd slide up and cast into the foaming fish. Although many of the fish immediately dove deep, there were some nice hook-ups!
On day two, the weather was beautiful and the ocean laid down nicely, making it much easier to spot the schools. The crystal clear water conditions made it imperative to strap on a leader of Seaguar Fluorocarbon using the lightest line possible. We laid the wood to them on Sunday picking up approximately 3 or 4 per head in just a few hours of fishing.
The Ranger 85 will be headed up North to Channel Islands Sportfishing in November and they have some great 2-Day trips lined up! Captain Frank Ursitti and Crew always do a great job putting you on the fish and go the extra mile to provide a memorable experience.
