Water temps still holding and the weather can not get any better (Low temps on overcast mornings are around 30F and the high temps are reaching the mid 60's. Winds have been light to nothing and the fish have been fired up...everywhere!!  The fishing has been great.  Float tubing and fly fishing are producing a lot of fish for the catch and release anglers.  Just one rod has produced double digits for many.

There are fish off the tip of Buck and Rocky Pt, some dandies at that for those fishing the middle basin.  Mostly hitting tui chub minnow imitations and brown leeches..trollers...flourescent orange grubs, flies and Sure Catch Large Red-dog lures, pearl & nickel bikini, flourescent orange rapalas & pin minnows of various patterns.  Jig fishermen, this is a good time.  It's just a matter of presentation preference in tossing the feathers out there.  Wild Turkey marabou jigs are hot on this lake and come in all the colors we use on flies.  Fog changes things for the color preferences of the fish. Trolling:  Mostly working water on the west side near Shrimp Island and off Black Mountain and Eagle's Nest on the east side.  Depths of water we have worked have varied from 8 to 14 ft deep to 20 to 35 ft deep and even 40 to 55 ft of water.    For downriggers, 8 ft deep has been your magic number this week and various lures are working as long as there has been a spash of orange.  Chartreuse/nickel backed spoons have been good when it's foggy.

The east side is fishing great.  Minnows still the abundant food source.  Folks are hammering really nice fish off the 'nest this week.  8 feet deep from the 80+ft deep hole and north to Black Mountain has many scattered pods of trout.  Yozuri pin minnows, floating rapala's and various minnow imitations and various needlefish have had no problem getting a lot of attention. www.Eaglelakefishing.net
