http://norcal.fishreports.comBeautiful weather has brought many trollers to Shaver Lake this past week with good results reported by most. The water level has rose to about 53% and may have contributed to a tad less success than the weeks before. However, most trollers are reporting a limit or two per boat. Most of the trout are in the 15 to 20 foot deep column and are hitting spinners tipped with crawler behind weighted flashers or lead core line at 2 to 3 colors. One boat reported success with bikini colored Needlefish. The island, Black Rock and the Stevenson Creek areas continue to be the better spots however, one boat reported they fished in front of the dam with good results. Most of the fish are congregated so finding the schools is important.
Bank fishermen are having some luck but not as well as the bank fishing at Courtright Reservoir. Tom and Doreen McCandless of Shaver Lake have reported excellent action each week they fish at Courtright using Power Bait. The Shaver bank fishermen are finding the best success at roads 1 and 2 and near the dam.Dick Nichols (559) 841-3317
