Deer Creek Reservoir Fish Report

Utah Division of Wildlife

Report Date:

http://wildlife.utah.gov

DNA analysis has identified and confirmed the presence of juvenile quagga mussels (veligers) in a water sample taken from the reservoir. Because of this discovery, you must decontaminate your boat before you leave the reservoir. The reservoir has ice near Charleston Bay, but much of it has melted in the last week and is unsafe to walk on. Please use extreme caution! Anglers report catching nice-sized rainbows near the dam wall on Kastmasters and peach PowerBait. You might want to try tipping a jig with chub meat. Anglers are catching fish in the upper 10 feet of the water column. You can also try using #4 and #7 leeches and woolly buggers with sinking line. The ramps are currently dry and snow-free, the reservoir is 80-percent full and the island has water surrounding it.
