Report Date:
http://wildlife.utah.govThe ice is safe across the lake. The south end has the thickest ice -- up to 12 inches -- while the clear ice on the north end is the thinnest at about six inches. Fishing is good to hot for perch and small trout near the weed line in 15-25 feet of water. You can catch large rainbows and splake in 25-35 feet on the bottom, or suspended at the same depths over deep water. Lake trout can be caught on the bottom in 70-100 feet, but catching them requires a lot of patience. Sonar can be very helpful in deep water, whether you're fishing on the bottom or suspended. Over 1,700 anglers participated in the Fish Lake perch fishing contest, harvesting between 30,000 and 40,000 perch in one day. Remember, there is no longer a limit for perch at Fish Lake and you can dispose of perch in any way. We encourage anglers to remove as many perch from the lake as possible. Call the Fish Lake Lodge at 435-638-1000 for up-to-date conditions and fishing reports.
