Back Bay Science Center educators will take visitors on a free tour of historic Shellmaker Island on Saturday, Aug. 19. The tour will begin promptly at 9 a.m. at 600 Shellmaker Road in Newport Beach.

The island is an historic landmark filled with human history. Shellmaker Island is an integral part of a 752-acre wildlife reserve known as Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve. The tour will allow participants to see the past, present and future working together.
