ATTENTION ANGLERS Be advised that Lake #1 had a recent fish kill due to low dissolved oxygen levels.?? Lake #1 is open for fishing however due to the loss of fish you are more likely to catch your limit in one of our other Lakes.?? Lakes #2, #3 and #4 are stocked with Catfish throughout the summer and are also teeming with Bluegill, Bass and Carp.?? Thank you for your continued support of Santee Lakes and we hope you catch your limit.

Lakes 6 and 7 are reserved for campers only and they tend to yield larger fish. Bass are mandatory catch and release. Fines levied for non-compliance.

Chris Walker caught a 5lb. Catfish out of lake #2.
May Nam caught an 11lb. Catfish out of lake #4 on mealworms.
Bob Mutten and Manny Roybal caught 3 large catfish out of lake #4 on mealworms and marshmallows.?? The largest weighed 11lb.s and the other two weighed 10 lbs. each.
Manny Robal of La Mesa caught a 16 lb. Catfish out of lake #4 on mealworms and marshmallows.
James Sturkey of San Diego caught a 13lb. Catfish out of lake #3 on mackerel.
Bryce Black age 12 of El Cajon caught an 11lb 3 oz. Catfish out of lake #3 on chicken liver.

A 3lb. Bass was caught out of lake #5 by Nate Wellings.?ĮPreston Jones age 15 of Spring Valley caught a 7lb. Bass out of lake #4 on a 6" Aarons.
Jenna Ward age 9 of Poway caught a 4 lb. Bass out of lake #7 on a nightcrawler. This was her first fish ever caught
Erik Kinninger of El Cajon almost broke the lake record with his 13.5lb. Bass.?? This fish was caught out of lake #5 on a 4" plastic Texas rig.
Richard Laughery of Santee landed a nice 8lb8oz. Bass out of lake #1 on a shiner with a bobber.
Samuel Wright caught a 7 lb. Bass out of lake #5 on a chatter bait.
Matthew Jacob Lipscomb caught a 2 lb. Bass out of lake #4 on a shiner
Jimmy Elias caught a 6lb. Bass out of lake #1 on a plastic worm.
Jimmy's buddy Cameron Balough caught a nice size Crappie out of lake #1 on a jig.?? This is one of few Crappie that have caught out of Santee Lakes
The Bass are showing signs of life.?? Try lakes 1,2 and 5.?? Shiners and crankbaits are working best. Be patient. The bite is improving.
Frank Crist Jr. of San Diego caught an 8 lb. Bass out of lake #5. This fish was released.
BLUEGILL: ?ĮThe?? bluegill are biting well in lakes #4, #5 and #6. Try mealworms or redworms with a bobber
Dylan Tyler Smith age 6 of Santee caught a bluegill out of lake #3 on a mealworm. This was Dylan's first fish.

CARP:
The SoCal Carp Club along with the Lion's Club hosted a Carp event at Lake #7 on Saturday to raise funds to create a sensory garden at Santee Lakes.?? The event was a success with numerous Carp caught as well as Catfish. The largest weighed in at 28 lbs.
