http://www.shogunsportfishing.comHi folks!! After loading up on beautiful 6-8 inch sardines we kicked this trip off by heading straight west in search of some bluefin tuna. On the way out we had a seminar and Island tackle had giveaways for passengers. Every passenger also got a variety box of Trokar hooks from Eagle Claw that included TK8, TK7 and TK619 hooks. By the time we got ourselves all rigged up and ready to go we were in the tuna grounds!
It didn't take long for captain Russ to spot our first breezer of nice sized bluefin tuna. The first two fish to hit the deck were 50 and 60# fish. We slid on spot after spot after that some schools reacting well and others not at all. The amount of fish around is surreal. It would have been great for the an environmentalist to be up in a spotter plane today and see the incredible amount of fish that was up today in just the small area we were fishing. There were boats to the north, south and west for miles around us seeing the same sign of BFT. We ended the day with 22 BFT and 3 yellowfin tuna. We are going to travel down the coast and fish for yellowtail tomorrow.
Wish us luck and we will check in tomorrow!
