Smallmouth and largemouth bass have been a better target than stripers as of late. Though one striper weighing 17.9 pounds was caught with anchovies near Katherine Landing. Catfish are active in the coves, mostly at night, and anchovies are productive bait for them as well. The sunfish species have been taking night crawler pieces and small jigs in the backs of coves. Largemouth bass are reportedly hanging out in still water near the backs of coves, and smallmouth bass are holding on rocky shelves. Drop shot rigs have been successful as well as plastic imitations and night crawlers.
