http://www.countyofsb.org/parks/cachuma.sbcThe catfish bite is taking off again as six limits were reported during the week. Sinking mackerel,
worms, and stink baits were the popular methods and even chewing gum seemed to attract
the hungry cats. Cachuma Bay was the hot spot for both catfish and bass as a few 3-4lb
largemouth were pulled out off the rocky bank on the west end. Additionally, the small mouth
have been extremely active the last couple weeks. Spinner baits and speed traps are killing
it along Jack Rabbit Flats and E Point. Even with the trout moving deeper, quite a few were
brought in with the largest of the week weighing 5 lbs..
Water Temperature: 74 Degrees

The catfish are very active right now hitting everything from stink bait, to worms, to Rapalas. Quite a few cats hit the 4+ pound mark this week coming out of Cachuma Bay. Many anglers reported catching 10-15 bass a piece off the rock walls in Cachuma Bay as well. Crank baits and spinners are still working very well while most bait fishermen from the shore had luck with nightcrawlers. The trout bite has slowed down a bit with the increasing water temperature so it's time......
