What happens is that someone hacks into you’re computer and incrypt you’re files so you can’t understand them….sort of like hieroglyphics…….then, you receive a message letting you know what has happened to you and what it will cost to get them back. Sad thing is that those who pay still don’t get their files back according to the F.B. I. and local sheriff…..it’s like starting all over and one of the biggest hits are you’re list of contacts………I tried several “military grade” decryption programs and spent some money trying to retrieve the information, but with no luck…..and refuse to even think about paying the ransom……so it is what it is……
