http://www.royalpolaris.comToday the weather was only out done by the generosity of our host and a couple of regular passengers. Jack handed out Accurate T shirts for everyone followed by another T shirt give away courtesy of Greg Curry and Koi Marcucelli. Not to be out done, Bob Ramirez also handed out a goodie bag of tackle which we have Hi Seas/American Fishing wire to thank for. Also contributing to future daily prizes will be Cal Star rods, Seeker rods, Tokar Hooks, and SKB Tackle Boxes. Last but not least we need to also thank Jack and Accurate Reels for hosting us and also for the loaner equipment which was handed out today to who ever wanted to try it, which is most everyone except those of us that already use Accurates.
In addition to all the freebies, Frank also delivered a short seminar which covered general tackle requirements and set ups to be used throughout the trip. Other than that it was nonstop travel with weather that just couldn’t be any nicer. Warm, sunny, and calm, the hat trick of perfect conditions.
We will be breaking up the travelling a little tomorrow as we are planning on checking out the wahoo catching possibilities in the morning. Whether we’re successful or not is to be determined but the stop will be welcomed either way.
I also want to give a shout out to the half of the famed French Connection that couldn’t make it this year, Claude. Claude is pretty much a regular on this trip and yes, he does come all the way from France to do it. His brother in-law Herve (also from France) and his brother Francois (who was formerly from France but is now a Texan) are aboard and if things go for Francois as they usually do, he’ll probably catch enough for both of them. That’s about it for now, check us out tomorrow and see if the hoo show up.
POEM OF THE DAY
For the cook it hardly mattered
That the fish’s life was shattered
Despite how it cried
It was not only fried
But sliced into pieces and battered.

Larry from St. Louis here and it will be my pleasure to bring you the daily blow by blows of the annual 18 day Accurate charter. The man himself, Jack Nilsen, is safely stowed on board along with a small fortune worth of shiny platinum reels and matching rods to be handed out for the asking. Of the 22 passengers onboard, all but 2 or 3 are Accurate regulars which makes a great trip even more fun. The previous trip......
