http://www.myoutdoorbuddy.comWind and rain greeted Day 1 anglers of the Costa FLW Western Series Event presented by Minn-Kota on Shasta Lake. 26 pro anglers managed to best a 10lb bag limit on a lake known for numbers of bass as opposed to size of bass.
The adverse conditions did not keep Richard Dobyns of Marysville from scoring an impressive 16.2 lb limit for Day 1, with Miles Howe one ounce behind at 16.1 lb. Many of the larger fish were coming off of swim baits, while good numbers were coming off jigs, drop shots and other finesse techniques.
One co-angler landed a very nice 5 plus lb fish on a jigs...oops rainbow trout doesn't count.
Day 2 looks to be more adventurous as wind, rain and the possibility of thunder storms loom as the pros vie for a top 10 standing going into tomorrow's final.
