Report Date:
http://www.royalpolaris.comWe arrived at our new location (same place we began the trip) and didn’t get lines in the water until 2:00 in the afternoon. It made for a short day but time enough to land 7 tuna and a wahoo. Tom Yuch and I (Larry Eilbott) were on the kite and got bit pretty close to the same time. Tom’s fish was the best of the day and although they tried to do their best to give it to him at the scale, he ended up with a 199.6.
Mine was a bit smaller at an estimated 185. The rest of the tuna were a nice grade around 150 but there were at least 3 other very heavy fish that won their freedom when spectra broke on one and other tackle failures on the rest. Quite frustrating to lose big fish that way.
We’ll have a full day tomorrow and I believe a little more time after that to make up for it so we’ll keep plugging away. Weather continues to be extremely consistent in a good way.
POEM OF THE DAY
The infamous Captain Hook
Was a liar cheat and crook
He got arrested and then
Spent a year in the pen
Which straightened out the Hook.
