http://www.countyofsb.org/parks/cachuma.sbcStarting this Wednesday the 23rd, we will be receivingour first trout plant of 3,300 pounds of Nebraska tail walkers. Two more plants are expected in April right before the fishing derby. This years tail walkers are ranging from 7lbs to over 12 lbs and are expected to be very active right off the bat. Otherwise fishing this week still has been dominated by crappie fishing, but the bite has sloweda bit, but large numbers have been pulled so finding good structure is the key to still pull some nice 2 to 3 pound slabs. Smaller 1.5 to 2 pounders have been pulled off of rocks and cliffs from shore with some people getting 12 a day fishing near the launch ramp #4 . Along with the crappie , bass as well are still biting with mostly 2 to 3 pound smallies and large mouthbeing hooked, but a nice 7lb large mouth was caught outside the marina off fly lining nightcrawlers. Mostly plastics and cranks are the best for the bass. Catfish has been slow but are picking up.
Carp are all over right now and bow fishing is great with over 25 being shot this week for 3 bowfishers.
