The Applegate is open to harvest of hatchery steelhead. Wild steelhead must be released unharmed. The river is a little high but clears up the farther upstream you go. Fish are distributed throughout the river and winter steelhead fishing should be good until the season ends. The Applegate closes to steelhead fishing March 31.
