http://www.royalpolaris.comWe fished the buffer zone this morning and had a great day. Morning started with a flurry of very nice fish with half over 190lbs. The day was a steady pick with a mix of fly lined baits and fish caught on the kite. We had 3 fish over 200lbs led by Rick “that fish is twice my weight” Allen with a 224lber. Susan ” I pull way harder than the guys” Beck with a 222lber (our first of the trip). Gary “Colored Greens” Cotter caught a 216lber. We had five fish in the high 190’s and a bunch scattered between 120-180lbs. Good fishing!
There were 3 personal bests (“PB’s) today that included Rick Allen’s 224 (yes, it’s about double his weight). Roland Crane caught a 198.8lber for his largest tuna. Bryan Shiosaka caught a 180lber for his PB. The funny thing is that we have a ritual of utilizing the deck hose to celebrate their new triumph. It’s now a welcome badge of honor to get totally hosed down once you celebrate. It never gets old and everyone has a good laugh as it happens. It has become a ritual everyone looks forward to, the only problem is it is getting harder and harder for this group to break their PB’s. We have 4 regulars with fish over 300 and most with PB’s over 250lbs.
As reward for their triumph, the PB’s get air time. Roland says hi to Chante, Sean, Roland Jr & Christian. He said he’s not done yet and will catch more. He wanted to say more, but I cut him off. Bryan says hi to Justin & Lauren. We have decided to shave his beard when he gets one over 200lbs. Couldn’t find Rick but will give him air time tomorrow.
