Catching the Spotlight
Spencer Perkins caught the “whopper of the week” when he hauled in a 9 lb. 8 oz. Catfish. Spencer , age 12 from Ramona, fished this beauty out of lake 2 using cut squid. Santee Lakes regular Bruce Pham reeled in a 5 lb. 5 oz. Catfish from lake 3 on mackerel. Richard Ouk caught his limit of 5 Catfish out of lake 3 also using cut mackerel. Chris Bothell has sent in numerous photos of some quality Largemouth Bass he’s caught (and released) over the past month.

This is the perfect time of year for fishing as all the species are biting. Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Bluegill and Carp. California State License NOT required! Just purchase a Santee Lakes daily fishing permit and start catching fish.
