Fishing for smallmouth bass has been good in the mainstem and South Fork Coquille. Jigs, crawdad crankbaits, and nightcrawlers will all work to catch smallmouth bass.
Shad are being caught by anglers fishing shad darts near the town of Coquille.
Crabbing has been slow in the lower Coquille. It is still recommended you discard the crab viscera (guts/butter) before cooking.
