Roy Rose brought Royal Polaris home for Thanksgiving Day, November 23. His 21 anglers had a good catch of mixed species. Most were tuna, but the 10-day catch included wahoo, dorado and yellowtail.

?? "Yesterday I mentioned we needed to check the Wahoo off our list," read Brandon's report for the boat on November 20. "Consider them checked. We had good fishing on the Wahoo today with a few going every stop. These are a very nice grade of fish. Many of our anglers caught their first Wahoo today along with some catching a new personal best. In the morning we also managed to catch a few Yellowfin tuna. We also released a few of the smaller Yellowtail and Dorado. Let's not forget those pesky Marlin as they made a short showing again. With another classic fall fishing day under our belts, we will be fishing yellowtail tomorrow as we work our way home."

There was some excitement earlier when some cows were encountered. "The day started out," said the report on the 17th, "with wide open Dorado fishing on a good grade of fish. After about an hour everyone was fixed up on the Mahi so it is off to look for some tuna and maybe the elusive Wahoo.

?Į?Į"We did find the sign we were looking for and even had some 120 to 150-pound tuna pop up in the wake. On another spot we had 150 to 220-pounders jumpers. This was quite a sight; however, I'm sad to report no biters. The visual confirmation on the larger grade of fish was a good sign and maybe we will be able to run up on some biters tomorrow. Weather today is still awesome with clear skies and light breezes."

Ed Royles of Rancho Palos Verdes won first place for a 55.7-pound wahoo. Dan Gaudy of Upland was second for a 53-pound yellowfin, and Joe Boudrea of San Luis Opisbo won third place for a 50.9-pound wahoo.
