Illipah Fish Report 01-30-2008

Snow conditions make travel a bit dicey here, but ice conditions are about the same as at Cave. According to Chris Crookshanks, NDOW fisheries biologist, this is the place to ice fish in White Pine County. Unfortunately, not a lot of anglers are taking advantage of it, so there hasn't been much in the way of information coming out of Illipah. Nightcrawlers are the bait of choice here and whether fished in combination with a jig or alone, fish in the 14 to 20 inch class can be expected. Last winter, black marabou jigs tipped with worms were working well through the ice.
