The Pot of Gold Halibut derby heats up despite cold winds. The Derby run aboard the Icon under Captain Shawn Morgon saw 3 strong contenders for 1st prize this week. The Derby will fish Tuesday (2/5/08) for a make up day and close out the week. Currently the weekly winner and leader in the tournament is Arman Gevorkyam from Sun Valley. He caught a 23.30 lbs. Halibtu with Shawn last Thursday. He was challenged by Dwight Colin with a 19.5 lbs. catch on Friday, then again on Saturday by Daryl Singleton (week 1 winner) with a 20.85 caught on Saturday.
