GENERAL CONDITIONS

Greetings Anglers!

Lake Temescal has been blessed with TWO DELIVERIES of trout just last week—one delivery of 750 pounds on November 9th, another delivery of 500 pounds on November 10th. As the fish went into the water, we noticed they were of decent size. Now that the lake waters are cooler, biting should only increase.

There is a lot of duckweed on the surface of the lake now, but it is NOT the blue-green algae we experienced this past Summer. Our lake waters are the cleanest they have been in quite some time in that regard. Best time of day for maximum success appears to be between 10am to 2pm.

So come on over and test your luck; you never know what you might catch if you don’t cast!

CATFISH

Still trying for catfish? Try fresh mackerel, cut into cubed chunks, says one of our seasoned veteran anglers.

TROUT

We personally witnessed a fisherman catch and release what appeared to be an 8-9 pound trout while fishing on the ADA dock (east side of lake, near the new picnic site). While he didn’t want to reveal his bait secret, he did mention he was using small sized lures. Other anglers have mentioned success with bait such as sliced anchovies/ sardines, nightcrawlers, Power bait, and Velveeta cheese.
