This is Larry from St. Louis (aka the guy who does the poems) and hopefully I will be doing the daily reports for the rest of this Izorline 18 day trip. We’ve been experiencing technical difficulties getting the reports out and I already did several which either didn’t get out or got lost in cyberspace We think we’ve got a work around, and if you’re reading this it must have worked. I’ll try and briefly bring you up to date on what you’ve missed so far. We had an extremely pleasant ride down with beautiful weather and calm seas. Roy wanted to stop somewhere on the way to try and get some bigger baits for use on the kite, and we got to where he wanted to be fairly early in the day. Since bait only bites at night we had most of the day to kill and we thought maybe we could catch a couple of wahoo while we waited. What none of us expected was catching a couple of wahoo apiece! Some guys did even better than a couple and it turned out to be one heck of a way to waste time. Special mention here for Tim Sharp, the youngest passenger, who is here with his dad on his first long range trip. He had never caught a hoo before, and as it turns out, he’s either a natural, or had the best case of beginners luck you’ll ever see as he had one of the hottest sticks of the day. We arrived at our first tuna spot around 9 last night and immediately went to work. Rumors were that they were biting well at night but our first fish wouldn’t come until near day light. At that, there were only a handful with the biggest caught by George Iwashito at 180 pounds. It’s late, I’m going to keep it brief as I said, so that’s going to be it for now. We are all well, happy, and eating hearty. Hope this gets out, if so, more tomorrow.
