http://www.royalpolaris.comHi folks;
Weather today was warm and the seas were flat calm. At dark the sky's were very red and beautiful.
Fishing today was scratchy, however the quality was quite good. The first fish over 200 pounds caught on a sardine today won a Accurate Bose 870 reel. That fish weighed 204 pounds and was caught by Jeff Shapiro. Late in the day Roger Hawtree got a 215 pound Yellowfin tuna, also on a sardine.
Our high-liner for the day was Gary Lacroix who caught 4 fish from 140 to 180 pounds. He was followed by Stas Vellonakis who had three fish from 150 to 180 pounds. Robert Ramirez also had 2 nice fish on the bait and our 2 passengers from France, Francois and Claude Mangeot, each had 2 fish. Paul Coelho got a 191 pound Yellowfin tuna, and Gwen Kosi got a 150 pound Yellowfin tuna at the end of the day. Judy Montague also had a 175 pound Yellowfin tuna.
Hard luck angler for the day was Bob Pound, who lost a fish between 240 to 250, just inches away from being gaffed. We caught 19 Yellowfin from 125 to 215 pounds, 2 in the 50 pound catogory and 8 Wahoo. We saw a fair amount of fish today but there was a lack of current most of the day.
We will be giving it another go tomorrow. The R/p crew.
P.S. Lynda, Paul caught a big-un today, love you, and Happy Valentines day.
